Did ancient Bharatiyas know about the parallel universe and multiverse?

The great scientist and mathematician Albert Einstein's “Theory of Relativity” plays a significant role in connecting modern science with ancient Indian science. He vividly explained the universe does not run only on Newton's principles. He specifically mentioned about the time and the space are not separate. Scientists initially found it difficult to accept the concept of Albert Einstein however recently in Geneva, the results of new experiments on large Hadron Collider machines are presenting astounding revelations of the concept that was presented by Albert Einstein.

A very popular question that comes in the minds of many, Is our universe unique? Are we the only universe out there? With our present support of scientific development and technological up-gradation, our reach is limited because our universe is curved and we are just inside the fishbowl, unable to see the outside of it.

Another great scientist Stephen Hawking's last paper dealt with multiverses. The paper was published just a few months after his demise. He told in an interview, "We are not down to a single, unique universe, but our findings imply a significant reduction of the multiverse to a much smaller range of possible universes."
An important description appears in Yogavashistha Maharamayana. This mysterious text emphasizes on the purpose of life, life series after death, hence held in high regard by the Vedic scholars and rishis/sages/ hermits. They explained the concept of time travel which is the concept of movement between certain points in time, analogous to movement between different points in space and time at the same point by an object or a person. At times it typically compared with the use of a hypothetical device known as a time machine. Even after Albert Einstein advocated about the concept of relativity, a large group of scientists and science scholars thought time travel is merely a concept in philosophy and fiction.

In relation to the concept, there is an incident from Hindu scriptures. The description is an interaction between Goddess Saraswati and a devotee of Goddess Saraswati - Leela. Leela was deeply grieved by the death of her husband who was a king named Padma in Aryavarta. She requested Goddess Saraswati to take her to meet him. The Goddess guided Leela to concentrate her mind and thru astral travel both entered the world in which Padma's conscience was present and existing. She found Padma as a king who was ruling for 16 years in that world. Leela was surprised by what she witnessed as her husband had died at the age of 70 earthly years. Goddess clarifying her doubts explained -
The sloka referred above means, Just as the various layers of banana stem are placed one below the other, similarly each creation is simultaneously and sequenced systematically. The sequence of many creations exists within a time frame, just as the world of dream exists in every atom of consciousness pervading the world. Similarly, in the world, there are many kinds of creatures and their world exists within the infinite atoms of infinite matter.
Goddess Saraswati then time traveled with her to a subtler world and Leela saw her husband was a Brahmin and his body lying dead. She recalled vague memories of her past life-time in which her name was Arundhati. What surprised Leela was, all the events she witnessed lasted for 70 years, were equal to the just 7 days of occurrence in that creation because each event was true in the respective worlds.

If watching Hollywood movies is one of your hobbies or passions, then probably you have watched the very famous movie “Inception” by British-American filmmaker Christopher Edward Nolan British-American filmmaker or the movie “Lucy” by French film director, screenwriter, and producer Luc Paul Maurice Besson. Hopefully, you can understand what actually I’m trying to correlate to. And if you have not seen it then I would suggest you watch it so that you can understand the concept of time travel. (My suggestion for you to watch it because if you cannot make a visual picture of it or cannot imagine it.) Critics may say that movies are based on fiction and imagination, however at times to project the imagination a platform is required, so in both of the movies, time travel is the platform.

Maharishi/ great sage Vashistha explains the journey of life according to the infinite desires of the mind, that time and space are relative and the existential realities of consciousness and the deep mysteries of life and science.

Have you ever think about a matter or did this question ever arise in your mind, how did our ancestors acquire such advanced knowledge and solve the mysteries and puzzles of the universe? It epitomizes the power of human consciousness and that indicates it’s limitless potential. The world we perceive at present is just a limited version. To understand the world beyond this, we have to expand ourselves, only then we will be able to understand it. For most of you us, the concept of the time machine is unbelievable because we have not come up with such a machine yet through our so-called modern scientific and technological development however the experience of time machine can be perceived through our mind.
