Why do the Sun and Moon appear the same size?

Maya Asura writes in Surya Siddhanta -
चक्रानुपातजोमध्यो मध्यवृतांशजः स्फुटः।
कालेन दृक्समो न स्यात् ततो बीजक्रियोच्यते॥५॥
Chakraanupaatajomadhyo madhyavrtaanshajah sphutah.
Kaalen drksamo na syaat tato beejakriyochyate ॥5॥

Due to the progression of the cycle of time when compared between chosen degrees evidently the imagery doesn’t remain the same, therefore the operation of analysis and solution is called upon. The text is emphatic on the point that the fundamentals have been untouched relatively. Let’s begin with a derivation in Surya Siddhanta that can be easily detected.
It's no coincidence that Sun and Moon have virtually the same angular size in the sky. The Sun is 400 times wider than the Moon, however, it is also 400 times farther away. Even though the Moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun, it is also 400 times closer to Earth than the Sun. This refers to the fact that from Earth, both Moon and Sun appear to be the same size in the sky. This allows us to see spectacular coronal displays and prominences during eclipses. However, this phenomenon is unique only to Earth.

However, a point to be noted that there are millions and billions of undiscovered solar systems. What are the odds?
